Sometimes & Others

I was told time was fluid,
It's a wonder more of us don't stop and stare.

Sometimes life is a hurricane,
Others, a drizzle.

It blows you away,
Or silences you into stillness.

Sometimes, your emotions overpower your sensibility,
Others, you feel nothing.

I can still remember the wave crashing down on her,
Who knew destruction would come bearing the face of her own kin.

Sometimes, her bruises, black and blue would begin to heal,
Others, a new scar would be bleeding what little life she had left within her.

Mind you, she was still the kindest soul to walk this Earth,
Her intentions more pure than love.

Sometimes, she would smile and brave what awaited her ahead,
Others, she would be consumed whole.

It's a funny thing to think that people will remember us,
Or what we do today will be honoured tomorrow.

Sometimes, Fate intervenes as our last dying salvation,
Others, we are subjected to the cruelest of fates.

So many timelines, So much to see,
It's a pity more of us don't fucking care.
